Nats Split With Reds, O’s Losing Streak Reaches 10, Indy 500 Sold Out

The Washington Nationals split a pair of games with Cincinnati yesterday, winning the resumption of the suspended game from Wednesday 5-3, then falling flat in the nightcap 3-0. In the opener, Austin Voth picked up where Joe Ross left off, pitching 2 scoreless innings for his first win of the year. In the nightcap, the Reds’ Sonny Gray tossed 6 scoreless innings, as the Nationals had no run support for Stephen Strasburg, who took the loss. The Nats start a weekend series against the Brewers tonight at 7:05 on Sports Radio 1450.

The Baltimore Orioles lost their 10th straight game, falling to the White Sox last night 5-1. The O’s managed just 5 hits off Chicago pitching, as their record dropped to 17-33. The two teams play tonight at 8:10.

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is sold out for Sunday’s Indy 500. There will be a reduced crowd of 135-thousand fans for the iconic race, which is about 40 percent capacity. The race was held last year with no fans.

And, Sergio Garcia and Jordan Spieth share the first round lead of the PGA Tour’s Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth Texas. After winning the PGA Championship last week, Phil Mickelson is 10 shots back.
