FCPS appoints four new administrators

 Frederick County Public Schools announced four new administrators during Tuesday’s School Board meeting.

Shante Knight is the new Assistant Superintendent for Instruction and she brings with her 22 years of experience in education through a wide variety of roles like teacher, principal, and director of curriculum and instruction.

Shamika McDonald will serve as the Director of Special Instructional Services and most recently worked as the Director of Special Services in Warren County.

FCPS also welcomed Liesl Baldwin to the media and communications team as the Coordinator of Family and Community Engagement.

She has served families throughout the community in roles with Valley Health, Social Services and the Parents as Teachers National Center over the last 16 years.

The School Board also appointed James Wood Middle School’s new Assistant Principal Melvin Womble at the meeting.

He has spent the last nine years as an FCPS administrator and four years prior teaching.
