A 21-year-old New Market man faces charges after an investigation into child pornography by the Shenandoah County Sheriff’s office.

Jacob D. Ohler was arrested on one count of possession, reproduction, distribution, solicitation and facilitation of child pornography and three counts of failure to register as a sex offender, the sheriff’s office said Friday.

The investigation began Jan. 31 with a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). On Feb. 6, deputies and officers from Shenandoah County Adult Probation and Parole executed a search warrant in the 9000 block of Pleasant View Drive in New Market. Ohler was arrested afterward on a probation violation, according to the sheriff’s office. The child porn and failure to register charges were filed Feb. 22.

Ohler was transported to the Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren Regional Jail, where he was held without bond.
