Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative (SVEC) have awarded their funds from their Operation Round Up (ORU).

The ORU program benefits nonprofits in their service area and is funded by Cooperative Members.

As we do every first Friday of the month we spoke with an SVEC representative in a news maker.

Today we spoke with SVEC Event and Communications Manager Preston Knight.

Preston tells us how the ORU program works and how you can request funds.

He also tells us how the selection process is done in the SVEC service area.

Preston also adds that scholarships are available from SVEC.

News Maker Greg Rogers of SVEC for the month of March

Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative (SVEC) awarded almost $24,000 to various charities in each county it serves.

As we do the first Friday of every month we check in with SVEC in our latest news maker.

This month SVEC President and CEO Greg Rogers is with us and tells about Operation Round Up.

Operation Round Up is a chance for SVEC to give back to the communities they serve.

Through the generosity of their member owners SVEC is able to help these various organizations.

Greg tells us who benefited from the latest grants and how to get involved.

He also tells us about opportunities to become a member of SVEC’s Board of Directors.
