Four Hornets Named All-Region, Nats-Reds Tonight, Twins Rally To Beat O’s

Four Shenandoah University student-athletes were named All-Region by the US Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association. William Crowder, John Kindig, Miles Moore, and Emily Miller received the accolades from the organization. Crowder and Moore earned the honor in the 100 meters, Kindig in the hammer throw, and Miller in the steeplechase.

The Washington Nationals return to action tonight when they start a midweek series against the Cincinnati Reds. Despite being in last place in the NL East at 20-23, the Nats are just 2 games out of first place after a 3-game sweep of the Orioles. Air time is 6:35 tonight on Sports Radio 1450.

The Minnesota Twins erased a 3-2 Baltimore lead with 6 runs in the 8th inning, and beat the O’s 8-3 last night. The two teams play again tonight at 7:40.

And, PGA of America CEO Seth Waugh has apologized to Phil Mickelson and Brooks Koepka for fans rushing past security on the 18th hole of Sunday’s PGA Championship. Mickelson, who won the tournament, called the scene “unnerving…but awesome,” while runner-up Koepka complained that the swarm of fans were bumping into his injured knee.
