Old Town Winchester holds a fundraiser for Ukraine

Old Town Winchester announced that a fundraiser for Ukraine will be held tomorrow Mar. 26 and Sun. Mar. 27.

This Stand With Ukraine event will be held in front of the Market St. United Methodist Church at 131 S. Cameron St. and in front of the First Presbyterian Church at 116 S. Loudon St. Winchester.

A number of items from bake goods to traditional Ukrainian items will be on sale.

On Sat. the fundraiser will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sun. it’s a 1 to 4 p.m. event.

The event is sponsored by the Multicultural College and Friends of Ukraine.

All proceeds will go to the United Methodist Community on Relief and go directly to the people of Ukraine.

TVRC host an after legislative luncheon

An email from Top of Virginia Regional Chamber (TVRC) announced a post legislative luncheon.

The event will look at recently passed legislation that will make it easier to do business in Virginia.

A discussion on the upcoming special session of the General Assembly and the issues that lawmakers face.

A discussion will also take place on the legislation that was not passed in the past session.

The luncheon will be held at the George Washington A Wyndham Grand Hotel in Winchester Apr. 7 from noon to 2 p.m..

Winchester and Woodstock’s latest drinking water test results

The City of Winchester and the Town of Woodstock have both announced that the latest sample of water from the north fork of the Shenandoah River taken less than a week ago continues to show no sign of toxins from the Algae Bloom.

Both the City and Town water supply continues to be completely safe to drink and can be used for all purposes.

Both Winchester and Woodstock will continue to monitor the water supply with the Virginia Department of Health as long as necessary.
