ABC News reports that a domestic situation ended with 3 dead including a police officer in Covington Virginia.

A 42 year old Covington man named Toney S. Poulston entered a gas station and confronted 64 year old relative and store employee  Randall Paxton.

The situation escalated to the point where Poulston shot Paxton.

Virginia State Police (VSP) and Covington Police responded to the scene and confronted Poulston as he was exiting the store when gunfire accorded.

Poulston was shot and killed but not before shooting and killing a Covington Police Officer.

Poulston did leave Paxton’s wife, a fellow employee of the store, alive and unharmed.

No motive for the assault has been determined at this time as the VSP investigation continues.
