WPD respond to reports of shots being fired

The Winchester Police Department (WPD) reports responding to reports of loud arguing and shots being fired in the Gray Ave. area.

WPD Chief Amanda Behan indicated that the investigation revealed little evidence in the way of bullet holes or shell casings or the shooter.

Social media post report several streets were blocked off by police as the search for the shooter advanced.

The probable shooter was described as a shirtless black male wearing sweatpants with dreadlocks in a bun.

WPD investigate a shooting in Winchester

The Winchester Police Department (WPD) is investigating a shooting in a strip mall in the 800 block of North Loudoun Street.

The 24 year old victim who was not identified was shot in the upper body early Sunday morning.

He is in serious but stable condition at Winchester Medical Center.

WPD did get a description of the assailant but no motive for the shooting has been disclosed.

The victim and shooter reportedly did not know one another.
