Martinsburg Police respond to gun shot victim

Martinsburg Police responded to reports of shots fired at 3:08 AM today, February 14th, on the 400 block of W. Race Street.

Shortly after arrival, officers spotted a man who appeared to be in need of urgent medical assistance.

The male victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds and received lifesaving care from officers on the scene until paramedics from the Martinsburg Fire Department arrived to care for the victim.

He was then transported to a local hospital where he remains in stable condition.

The crime scene was established along W. Race Road with Martinsburg P.D. and the West Virginia State Police working closely to document the area.

Traffic diversions have been placed in the area between Queen and College Streets from Byrd Avenue to Raleigh Street.

Martinsburg Police request the community’s patience while the scene is processed.

A Blacksburg shooting reported on Saturday April 16, 2022

ABC News reports one person was injured in a shooting in Blacksburg early this past Saturday Apr. 16, 2022.

Around 1:45 a.m. police responded to a report of shots being fired in the Hunt Club Drive vicinity.

One person was taken to the hospital and treated for a gunshot wound and then released.

The person responsible for the shooting remains at large with no immediate threat suspected by police.
