Prepare now, some inclement weather is possible this weekend

Travel crews are preparing for what the National Weather Service says is a strong possibility of significant snow coming this weekend January 6 and 7.

Authorities are suggesting that you prepare now for the inclement weather.

It is always advised that if you don’t have to travel stay at home.

If you do have to travel winterize your vehicle and keep an emergency kit in your vehicle throughout the winter.

It is a good idea to keep phones powered in case of outages.

Both Shenandoah Valley and Rappahannock Electric Cooperatives are ready for services if  there are problems.

You can report and or track outages at both cooperatives interactive maps on their respective websites.
