VA. unemployment rate falls for the 16 straight month

An email from Governor Northam states that the unemployment rate fell to 3.8 percent in September.

That is 2.8 percentage points below the rate from a year ago.

Virginia’s unemployment rate continues to stay below the national average of 4.8 percent according the release.

According to the governor’s newsletter both private and public sectors gained a total of 73,000 new jobs collectively.

September is the sixteenth consecutive month Virginia unemployment rate has dropped according to Governor Northam.
