After conducting a study and taking requests and concerns from citizens of Strasburg the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) announced adjusted speed limits in the town limits.

East King Street and Front Royal Road from Lemley Street east to just past Jackson Street the speed limit has been reduced from 35 miles per hour to 25 miles per hour.

Motorists should be aware of the new speed limit signs that are now posted.

The adjustment takes the safety of all road users into consideration.

Those considerations include various factors like road conditions, traffic flow, and pedestrian and residential activity.

Any questions or concerns should be director Strasburg’s Melanie Shipe at mshipe@strasburgva.com.
