The Summer Music Theatre is putting on a show of Grease.

Tickets are on sale now visit https://www.ssmtva.org/2021/03/grease/ to purchase your tickets online, or by calling the Box Office (540-665-4569) during normal business hours, Tuesday-Saturday, 12PM to 5PM.

There are shows starting on July 20 with dates available until August 1.

Seating will be limited to allow space between family/ friend groups.

Due to licensing restrictions this will be a live performance only.

There are no digital viewing options available.

Happening at The Ohrstrom Theatre located at 1460 University Drive Winchester, VA.

News Maker Todd Jones and important information on today’s 7/14 road closure

Road closures will begin at 5:30 today Jul. 14 on Commerce Ave for the Fireman’s carnival parade which steps off at 6 p.m..

The road will be closed from South Street to 8 Street in Front Royal.

Motorist will need to use alternate routes.

As we do every Wednesday we talk to Front Royal’s Director of Information and Technology Todd Jones about the carnival relish and free baseball.

Todd also tells us about Front Royal’s employee appreciation which begins Saturday Jul. 17 and how residents can take advantage too.

News Maker Tony Baker on Sherando Park’s Jul. 4

Sherando Park Stephens City will host an Independence Day celebration on Sun. Jul. 4.

Music and food trucks will be available after 5 with fireworks at dusk.

Where it is not the celebration that has been at Sherando Park in the past it is the first one they have been able to hold in two years.

We spoke with Frederick County Parks and Recreation (FCPR) Marketing Manager Tony Baker about the event.

Tony tells us about some of the activities as well as possible future celebrations for the Jul. 4.

Independence Day activities around the region

In Front Royal the Colonel James Wood II Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will offer a special reading of the Declaration of Independence.

The reading will take place at the Warren Heritage Society at 101 Chester Street at 11 a.m. Saturday Jul. 3.

Old Town Winchester has a new event on Sat. Jul. 3 Let Freedom Swing begins at 3 p.m..

Let Freedom Swing features two bands and will be held at the Taylor Pavilion.

Clarke County’s Community Band has a free concert followed by a fireworks displayed.

The event is set for the Ruritan Fairgrounds on Main Street in Berryville starting at 8 p.m. Sat. Jul. 3.

Sherando Park in Stephen City will hold their first Jul. 4 celebration for the first time in two years on Sun.

In Luray Downtown Get Down feature food, tunes and booms on Sunday Jul. 4 starting at 5 p.m..

Woodstock’s Shenandoah County Fairgrounds opens gates at 8:30 p.m. for their fireworks spectacular on Sun. Jul. 4.

New Market will hold a celebration on Mon. Jul.5 at their community park starting at 5.

A full day of activities will start at 8 a.m. in Middletown on Sun. Jul. 4 click here as Mayor Harbaugh talks of the activities planned.
