Frederick County is looking for the public’s input on pedestrian safety on the roads.

We spoke with one of the Principle Planners for the Shenandoah Valley Regional Commission Taryn Logan about a public meeting on the subject in our latest news maker.

Taryn tells us that the meeting is set for Thursday March 14 at 6 p.m. in the Winchester Government building.

She tells us that the meeting will focus on 3 main projects in Frederick County where major concerns have been recorded.

Taryn also gives us an alarming statistic on the numbers of pedestrians that have been affected by traffic accidents across Frederick County.

As with any development of this magnitude the county needs the public’s input.

Front Royal Warren County EDA has an interim director appointed

At the latest Front Royal Warren County Economic Development Authority (EDA) board meeting the authority had an interim Executive Director appointed by the Warren county Administrator.

Taryn Logan will serve until the county hires an executive director as current EDA Director Douglas Parsons prepares to leave for a new position in Fauquier County Oct. 1.

Also at the meeting it was announced that as of Oct. 1 all payments to the EDA will be handled by the Warren County Finance Department.

Checks still need to be made out to the EDA but delivered to the Finance Department at 220 N. Commerce Ave. Front Royal.

Checks that are mailed to the EDA from Oct. 1 on may be subject to penalties and late fees.
