Laurel Ridge Community College reports that students will have the use of state of the art surgical simulators.

U.S. Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine secured the $305,000 to obtain the equipment for both the Fauquier and Middletown campuses.

The funding is a part of the congressionally directed Labor-Health and Human Services education spending package.

The technology allows students to experience a virtual surgical environment while providing instant feedback.

The senators called the funding acquisition an investment in not just Laurel Ridge Community College but the greater health and wellbeing of our communities at a time when there is a shortage of health care providers.
