Fatal crash in Charles Town ejects passenger
At 5:44 pm on April 18th, the Charles Town Police Department responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on US Route 340 north of the intersection with Patrick Henry Way.
The preliminary investigation shows that a Ford Excursion traveling southbound was approaching the intersection when the driver attempted to abruptly change lanes and in the process crashed into a Ford Focus and tractor trailer that were stopped in traffic.
The driver of the Excursion was ejected from the vehicle and flown to a local hospital for life threatening injuries.
The front seat passenger was declared dead at the scene.
The juvenile rear passenger was flown to a medical facility for life threatening injuries.
Neither driver or front seat passenger in the Excursion were wearing a seatbelt.
Drivers of the Focus and tractor trailer were not injured.
The Charles Town Police Department thanked community members who stopped to render aid at the crash as well as the Ransom Police Department, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, and the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance.

VSP investigates fatal crash in Rockingham County
Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred in Rockingham County on Thursday afternoon.
The crash was located along Interstate 81 at exit 245.
A Honda Accord ran into the back of a tractor trailer that had exited and stopped on the ramp.
The driver of the Honda, Selvin Turcios- Romero, 27, of Harrisonburg died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.

VSP need help identifying tractor trailer
Virginia’s State Police are asking for your help in identifying a tractor trailer that caused a motorcycle crash on Thursday in Fauquier County.
The crash occurred at 3:15 pm along Route 29, James Madison Highway, near Route 744, Lovers Lane.
The 2020 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling south on 29 when the tractor trailer made an unsafe lane change.
The move forced the motorcycle off the road and ejected the rider.
The tractor trailer had a black flatbed and did not stop after the accident.
The rider experienced serious injuries and was transported to INOVA Fairfax for treatment
