VDOT construction will shutdown 522 periodically Mon. 4/4

A news release from Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) announced road closures for Route 522 in Frederick County.

The closures will be periodic throughout the day and last 15 minutes at each stoppage period.

Contractors will be unloading steel girders for the Opequon Creek Bridge work.

Motorist may want to consider taking alternate routes between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Mon. Apr. 1.

New Traffic Patterns

Beginning next Monday, September 27,  there will be a new traffic pattern to Lee Street at Luray Avenue and the intersection of W. Main Street, Luray Avenue and Union Street. A new Stop sign installed on Lee Street at Luray Avenue. The current stop sign on Luray Avenue & Lee Street will be removed and relocated to intersection of Luray Avenue & W. Main. The yield sign will be removed and a stop sign installed at intersection of W. Main Street & Luray Avenue making this intersection a four way stop.   There will be signs and flags in place to alert drivers  of the new four way stop. Please use caution while driving in this area and be aware of the change. Again, this new traffic pattern will be in effect starting Monday September 27th.
