Front Royal celebrates Earth Day

The Town of Front Royal will host their Earth Day celebration today starting at 10 am at the Main Street Gazebo.

There will be live music, food, and fun for the whole family.

Nature and conservation groups will also be on hand to discuss a range of topics including ways to explore the outdoors like hiking and fishing and green technology like solar panels and electric vehicles.

At 3:30 pm, the local Tree Stewards will lead a tree planting to help demonstrate the town’s commitment to its Tree City USA status.

Luray postpones the tree planting tomorrow 3/12

The town of Luray announced the postponement of the tree planting event scheduled for tomorrow Mar. 12.

The tree planting has been planned at Hawksbill Creek each Sat. in Mar. the next one is scheduled for the 19 with an Apr. 2 date added.

The tree planting helps reduce the water’s temperature and improve the biodiversity of the creek.

Volunteers are needed to help plant even if you can only work a few hours.

Volunteers meet Saturdays at 10 a.m. at the Luray Park and Ride and work until 3 p.m..

The postponement tomorrow Mar. 12 is due to the predicted weather.
