Valley Health (VH) opened its week long Community Wellness Festival at Apple Blossom Mall on Sat. Mar. 19.

We spoke with Marketing and Operations Manager for VH Michael Wade in our latest news maker.

Shenandoah Memorial Hospital is recognized

Valley Health (VH) reports that Shenandoah Memorial Hospital (SMH) has been nationally recognized.

The hospital has been recognized by the Chartis Center for Rural Health as one of the top 100 critical access facilities.

There are 1,353 federally designated critical access hospitals serving rural areas in the United States.

Chartis uses publicly available data to assess and benchmark a rural hospital’s performance based on 36 relevant indicators.

The performance indicators include quality, outcomes, increasing patient satisfaction and operating at a lower cost.

The 100 highest scoring critical access hospitals earn a spot on the Chartis list.

SMH is the only hospital in Virginia to receive the honor and recognition in 2022.

VH opens the new Warren Memorial Hospital

The new Valley Health (VH) Warren Memorial Hospital (WMH) is officially open and welcoming patients as of 6 a.m. this morning Jun. 23.

The new Hospital is looking forward to advancing health care in the community 24/7.

VH opens the new Warren Memorial Hospital for tours

Valley Health (VH) cut the ribbon on the brand new $100 million Warren Memorial Hospital yesterday Jun. 8.

The building opens to the public at 6 a.m. on June 23 at 351 Valley Health Way in Front Royal.

The public is invited to tour the facility beginning Sat. from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m..

Tours can be reserved at valleyhealthlink.com/newwmh.

Mask and social distancing is required in all medical buildings in Virginia.

However with the new hospital not yet staffed or holding patients currently you do not have to wear a mask if you are fully vaccinated.

If you are not vaccinated you will have to wear a mask and social distance while on tour.

VH has a walk in vaccination clinic at SU

Valley Health (VH) and Shenandoah University (SU) will host a walk in COVID-19 vaccination clinic for anyone 18 and over.

This will be Thur. Apr. 29 at SU’s James R. Wilkins Jr. Athletics and Events Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m..

No registration for this clinic is necessary.

VH begins distributing 9,000 Johnson & Johnson vaccine doses

The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) reports close to 70,000 doses of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine have arrived in Virginia.

The doses are expected to last through next Fri. Mar. 12.

The Lord Fairfax Health District has 9,000 of those doses with distribution starting today Mar. 5.

Valley Health (VH) will distribute those doses among it’s four community clinics.

Once again VH will post vaccination opportunities at noon today on their website valleyhealthlink.com/c19vaccinations.

The posting will be for the Winchester, Front Royal, Woodstock and Luray clinics.

Johnson & Johnson single dose vaccine is in the Valley

Today Mar. 3 at noon Valley Health (VH) will post vaccination clinics for the single dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine.

Clinics are expected to become available Friday for the single dose then again March 8 and 9.

Valley Health continues to work with the pre registration list set up by the Virginia Department of Health (VDH).

The VDH encourages those receiving the vaccine to get the first dose that becomes available to them.
