Front Royal’s Christmas Fest and Parade

Front Royal’s Christmas Fest and 72nd Annual Parade gets started at noon today at the Gazebo.

The parade will follow shortly, kicking off at 4 pm.

Start off your day at the pancake breakfast at WCHS then head on downtown.

Live Christmas music at the Gazebo will play from noon to 1:30 pm.

Other events starting at noon include: Habitat for Humanities silent auction at the Virginia Beer Museum, the Winter Bazaar at Love Revival Ministry, and the winter festival at Able Forces.

Royal Cinemas will have a free classic Christmas movie showing at 1 pm before you head over to the parade.

The Dead Rise Again at the Virginia Beer Museums Halloween Party and final show of this year’s concert series.

The Grateful Divination Band will take the stage from 6 to 9 pm tonight bringing some of the Grateful Dead’s music with them.

Along with the special musical guests, there will also be guest beers on tap.

Three Notch’d Brewery and Dogfish Head will sell some of their signature brews.

The Virginia Boomuseum will also offer spooky tours of the museum all weekend.

Experience George Washington’s election

The Virginia Beer Museum in conjunction with the Virginia Regiment George Mercer Company and the French and Indian War Foundation are bringing you back in time.

Experience George Washington’s first political election to the House of Burgesses today at 5 pm at the Winchester Court House.

The event will take place in the exact location Washington won his election on July 24, 1758.

Era appropriate colonial style beer will be offered as it was flowing on his election day.

The legislators on his original election day consumed over 46 gallons of beer, 35 gallons of wine, and much more.

News Maker David Downs on a benefit for James

The Virginia Beer Museum on Chester Street Front Royal will hold a benefit for well known local musician James Vaughn.

James had a health issue not long ago and regional musicians will honor him and gather to support him on Sunday Jun. 20 starting 1.

The hope is help offset some of the bills James will be facing.

We talked with David Downs about the event.

David explains how the benefit came about and the musicians that will be a part of the benefit.

David tells us how long the event will last and some of the surprises that will take place.

David and Scott also talk about the museum itself.
