Senior Cool Care Program begins

Seniors First along with the Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services and Dominion Energy are helping seniors beat the heat this year with the Senior Cool Care Program.

This public-private partnership will help low-income older citizens in the area keep cool during the warmer months.

The program begins today and will continue through October 31st.

Seniors First provides additional cooling for your home with fans and air conditioners for eligible adults 60 and over.

To qualify, you must meet the age requirement, reside in Winchester, Frederick, Page, Warren, Clarke, or Shenandoah Counties and currently at or below 150% of the poverty level.

The program does not provide direct financial assistance.
