The Red Cross is warning of low blood donation levels resulting in a decrease of the national blood supply by 25% since early August.

The Red Cross estimates they must increase collection efforts of over 10,000 additional blood products per week for the next month to reach sufficient levels.

There are a number of blood drives coming up in the area including at Virginia Hills Church along Rockland Road on October 17th from noon to 5:30, Front Royal United Methodist Church on October 18th from 1 pm – 6 pm, and the Stephens City Moose Lodge on October 20th from noon to 5 pm.

Appointments are required for these blood drives.
