VML’s If I Were Mayor Contest is open

The Virginia Municipal League’s (VML)  If I Were Mayor Essay contest registration is open.

According to the VML’s website Virginia 7th graders can submit a 300 to 500 word essay for a number of prizes.

Regional winners selected from around the state will each receive a $150 gift card and a plaque.

One of those winners will receive a $250 gift card and a plaque with their regional plaque given to the regional runner up.

The winning essay will be featured in the May edition of the Virginia Town and City magazine.

Registration is open through Mar. 11 at midnight.
