VA. sends aid to Louisiana/W.VA. prepares for Ida

Hurricane Ida hit Louisiana with 150 mph winds Sunday Aug. 29 and is headed to Mississippi.

Virginia sent support to the devastated areas better than 24 hours before the storm struck land.

Over 200 electrical crews, Virginia Red Cross and Mercy Chefs were all on their way to Louisiana and other areas.

Meanwhile West Virginia’s (W.VA.) Governor Jim Justice is issuing a state of preparedness ahead of the storm’s remnants impact.

The remnants of Ida are expected to strike Tomorrow Aug. 31 in W.VA. than onto towards Virginia with heavy rains Wednesday Sept. 1.
