Plans announced for 7th annual Virginia Women Veterans Week

The Commonwealth will recognize Virginia Women Veterans Week March 17-23 to highlight contributions of women who have served and continue to serve the U.S. Military.

This is the 7th year that Virginia has set aside the third week of March to honor over 108,000 women veterans in the state representing the largest percentage of any state in the nation.

During a ceremony held by the Virginia Department of Veterans Services, the new “Support Women Veterans” license plate will be unveiled and a presentation of a special lapel pin will be presented to women veterans.

This event will be held at the Virginia War Memorial in Richmond on Thursday, March 21st.

Additional virtual events will be held at the Military Women’s Memorial in Arlington and the U.S. Army Women’s Museum at Fort Gregg-Adams.
