Camping for Hunger bus is ready for loading volunteers are welcome

The Camping for Hunger bus is now in place for ease of loading of those non perishable food donations Nov. 15 -20.

Non perishable food donations to be transferred to the bus can be dropped off at any of the locations at this link.

Volunteers are a vital part of this community effort to feed those in need.

For a rewarding experience and if you would like to help out in anyway contact the Congregational Community Action Project (C-CAP).

C-Cap could always use volunteers with any skill set you have for all their projects all year long.

Salvation Army kicks off it’s Red Kettle Campaign and needs volunteers

The Salvation Army of Front Royal kicks off its red kettle campaign on Friday Nov. 12 with a ribbon cutting ceremony at Rural King.

According to a Chamber of Commerce news letter the ribbon cutting is at 10 a.m..

Funds generated by the campaign go directly back into the communities served by the Salvation Army.

According to the Salvation Army’s email on the subject the Front Royal Corps assisted almost 2,000 families from Oct. 2020 to Sept. 2021 with rent/mortgage, utilities, hygiene, clothing and food needs.

The Front Royal Salvation Army serves Warren, Page, Rappahannock Counties as well as the town of Strasburg.

Volunteer bell ringers for the Kettle campaign can sign up in a number of ways including by going to RegisterToRing.com or by calling Captain Ann Hawk at (540) 635-4020.

Organizations are invited to adopt a day to ring individuals are invited to ring and a virtual bell ringing online opportunity is available this year as well.

More volunteers are needed for vaccination clinics

More than half the work at the vaccination clinics in the Lord Fairfax Health District is being done by volunteers.

As business in regular clinics and operating rooms picks up more volunteers are needed.

Valley Health needs both clinical and non-clinical volunteers to help keep the vaccination clinics running.

Health professional and health care students are welcome to apply.

You can also go to the James R. Wilkins Athletics and Events Center at Shenandoah University, Winchester Medical Center Conference Center, the Luray VFW and Warren County Health and Human Services building.
