An email from the Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles’ (DMV) Secretary of Transportation W. Shepherd III announced expanded walk in services.

Beginning tomorrow Mar. 2 DMV will offer walk in service Mondays through Fridays.

Previously due to the pandemic walk ins were restricted to Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays with appointments available on Mondays and Fridays.

Appointments can still be made and are a good way to expedite a service from DMV.

You can make an appointment and find other online services at dmv.virginia.gov.

Appointments can be made more efficiently now as well with an improved system for prioritizing planned appointment visits to the DMV.

An email news release from the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) announced the expansion of walk in services.

The DMV will expand to be open for walk ins on Wednesdays starting Dec. 15.

Appointments can still be made for Mondays and Fridays as well.

In addition a number of services are available online at dmvNow.com in fact 50 different services are now available online.

Statistics show that more than 32 percent of DMV customers have completed transactions online with that number growing.

DMV have noticed a need to adjust their walk in days and hours as well according to the email.

With that, walk in service is now available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays with varying hours depending on the office.

DMV ask that if you have made an appointment but opp to walk in please cancel the appointment to open it to other patrons.

Those who have a Wednesday Dec. 15 or later Wednesday appointment will automatically be rescheduled to a new date near the original appointment.

As of today Oct. 5 Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is offering walk in services.

On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays customers will no longer need appointments for services.

Check your DMV location for hours as they will vary.

Appointment services are still available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

You can set up an appointment at DMVnow.com.

Setting up an appointment can still save you time and allow you to take care of matters faster.

Many services can be taken care of online as well at the DMVnow website.
