Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office issues a warning to businesses

Recent reports of business burglaries from neighboring jurisdictions have prompted Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office to issue a warning.

The department’s social media page has several suggestions to safeguard your business

Securing any loose items in front or the business or in the parking lot will help keep burglars from using items to gain entry into the business.

Items like bricks and or cinder blocks and other items could be used to gain entry into an establishment.

Keeping track of inventory and writing down serial numbers when available is an important and good way to safeguard merchandise.

Acquiring, updating or making sure security lighting and cameras are in working order is also important in deterring vandals and break ins.
