SCSO updates abduction case Victim found Suspect at large

Shenandoah County Authorities report the recovery of an abduction victim Oct. 20th  however the abductor is still at large.

Forty-one-year-old Basye resident April Cline was found safe near Quicksburg northwest of New Market in the abandoned blue Dodge Dakota that was stolen during the initial abduction.

The perpetrator is still at large last seen northwest of New Market by the victim.

The Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) has obtained a warrant for the arrest of 39-year-old Mitchell Markley Jr.

Markley was last seen on foot wearing blue jean shorts and a black jacket.

Markley has been recorded on game cameras in the Quicksburg area as well as reported northwest of New Market.

The warrant by SCSO issued for Markley’s arrest includes charges of breaking and entering, assault and battery as well as abduction by force or intimidation,

Markley is also wanted on additional charges from other jurisdictions.

If you see Markley you are advised not to approach him and contact the SCSO or your local Law Enforcement Office immediately.
