WCSO arrests Inwood man for online solicitation of minors

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office announced an arrest made stemming from an investigation launched on February 28th.

The investigative team launched a proactive, undercover operation in the Warren County area regarding the online solicitation of minors.

During the operation, an adult male contacted an investigator who was acting as a juvenile under the age of 15.

The suspect then requested photos and lewd content and transmitted obscene materials with who he believed was a juvenile female.

The investigative team identified the perpetrator as Steven Sherman, 57, from Inwood, West Virginia.

On April 16th, investigators from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, successfully apprehended Sherman and took him into custody without incident.

Following his arrest, he was taken to Eastern Regional Jail and appeared before a magistrate where he was ordered to be held without bond pending extradition to Virginia.

His court date is set for May 9th at 9 am in Warren County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

Sherman is currently charged with three counts of using communication systems to facilitate certain offenses involving children.

Warren county sheriff’s office arrests Chesterfield man

On March 14th, law enforcement officers from Warren County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 25-year-old man, William John Wester, in Chesterfield on suspicion of committing Internet Crimes Against Children.

These efforts are part of the ongoing investigation into individuals who lure minors through the internet for inappropriate purposes.

Mr. Wester was taken into custody without incident and transported to Chesterfield County Jail.

He appeared before a magistrate and was ordered to be held on a bond of $7,500.

The scheduled court date for the offenses has been set for April 4, 2024, at 09:00 a.m. in Warren County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

Such crimes can cause irreparable harm to children and their families.

It is important to take action against those who engage in such reprehensible behavior and bring them to justice.

FRPD arrests Natural Bridge man for solicitation of minors

Front Royal Police detectives report the conclusion of  an investigation that began March 21st regarding the solicitation of minors in the Front Royal area.

An adult male suspect sent sexually explicit material to a detective who was posing as a female under the age of 15.

The initial conversation was unsolicited and started by the offender.

Through the investigation, detectives identified the man as Douglas Hatcher, 49, of Natural Bridge.

Rockbridge County Sheriff’s assisted in the arrest at Hatcher’s home on April 7th for five charges of using communication systems to facilitate certain offenses involving children.

He is being held without bond at Rockbridge Regional Jail.

His court date is April 20,2023 at 9 am in Warren County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

This arrest was apart of FRPDs efforts in the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force coordinated by the Virginia State Police.

Bristol man arrested for soliciting local minors

Detectives from the Front Royal Police Department began an investigation regarding the solicitation of minors in the area on January 14, 2023.

An undercover operation ensued where an adult male began soliciting a detective who he believed was a 15 year old female for photographs and sexually explicit material.

The suspect was identified as 29 year old Michael T. Houchins II of Bristol, VA.

He was arrested at his home by the Bristol Virginia Police Department on February 9th for the use of communications systems to facilitate certain offenses involving children.

Houchins was transported to Southwest Regional Jail where he is being held without bond.

His court date is set for March 2nd, 2023 at 9:00 am in the Warren County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

FRPD is an active member in the Northern Virginia/DC Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force which is coordinated by the Virginia State Police.

FRPD makes arrest for solicitation of minors

The Front Royal Police Department conducted an investigation as a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force regarding the solicitation of minors in the area.

Officers concluded the investigation with the arrest of Sean Kreinsen, 28, of Smithfield.

An undercover operation began after Kreinsen contacted an officer posing as a female under 15 years old unsolicited and sent sexually explicit material.

Kreinsen was arrested by the Isle of Wight Sheriff’s Office and then transported to Western Tidewater Regional Jail where he is held without bond.

His court date is set for October 13th at the Warren County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

FRPD makes arrest for child pornography

An 8 month investigation came to an end when Front Royal Police arrested and charged Richard E. Jones Jr with 20 felony counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

In October, officers executed a search warrant on a residence on Accomac Drive and seized electronic devices.

After completing and extraction on the devices, over 400 images were discovered.

The 41 year old man is being held without bond at the RSW Regional Jail.

His court date is set for July 28th in the Warren County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
