Middletown’s Public Works Department announced that hydrant flushes will occur over the next two weeks.
During flushes, residents may notice reduced water pressure and flow or a discoloration of water.
This will clear up after running the water for a little while.
Hydrant flushing is necessary to ensure water quality and avoid rusty water in situations where there is a high demand for water due to a firefighting effort or water main break.
The Town of Front Royal’s Water and Sewer Department is responding to a water main break on Virginia Avenue between 9th and 11th Street.
Portion’s of Virginia Avenue will be closed while repairs are being made.
Homes in this area will also experience little to no water pressure during the repairs.
Be aware of road crews and signage when traveling through this area.
Once water is returned, residents are encouraged to run their faucets to clear discoloration and air in the repaired lines.
For questions or concerns, call Public Works or if it’s after hours, utilize the non-emergency police department number.
