BCSD report an arrest after AR-15 shots were fired and a chase

Berkeley County Sheriff ‘s Department (BCSD) report by email the arrest of a suspect after shots from an AR-15 were fired inside a residence and the suspect reportedly attempting to harm himself.

Deputies arrested Michael Earl Quinn in Martinsburg at approximately 10:30 p.m. on July 7.

Quinn has several outstanding warrants out of Maryland and West Virginia and was a felon in possession of a firearm and violation of a protective order.

While deputies attempted the initial arrest at 47 Olga Drive, Quinn slipped out the back of the residence and managed to secure a vehicle.

After a short chase the suspect was apprehended with a search of his vehicle confiscating ammunition and a AR-15 rifle case.

Further investigation uncovered more ammunition and spent cartridges in the house.

Quinn is being charged as a fugitive from justice with additional charges pending. 

Quinn is being held at the Eastern Region Jail awaiting arraignment.
