FCFR assist 2 and battle a Dairy Corner Place fire

Frederick County Fire and Rescue (FCFR) reports by email that their personnel were able to render aid to two people who escaped a house fire on the evening of March 5.

The pair were found suffering smoke inhalation outside of their home in the 100 block of Dairy Corner Place.

The pair were treated on scene until they were able to be transported to the hospital.

Units arrived at approximately 10:15 to find the couple outside and smoke emanating from both the first and second floor.

A thorough search found no one else in the building.

Several hoses were used to suppress the fire on all floors including the attic.

The fire caused over $109,00 in estimated damage.

The American Red Cross is assisting the residents.

The fire is believed to have originated in the kitchen and deemed accidental.

Units from Greenwood, Millwood Station, Clear Brook, Round Hill, Gainesboro, Middletown, Winchester City and Clarke County assisted Frederick County on the call with the last units leaving around 1:30 a.m. March 6.
