WPRD’s 7th Annual Splash Bash

The City of Winchester’s Parks and Recreation Department is hosting their 7th Annual Splash Bash today at the Jim Barnett Park outdoor pool from noon – 6:30 pm.

This is a great way to kick off summer before the 4th of July weekend and check out the newly refurbished slide, diving board, and wading pool.

NREP took over the concessions stand this summer to provide students with disabilities job training while also raising money for the school’s new greenhouse.

There will also be a DJ and door prizes including a free month membership to the pool.

The regular pool fee structure applies.

WPR hosts holiday open house

Winchester Parks and Recreation is hosting a holiday open house today from 9 am – 11 am at the Rec Center in Jim Barnett Park.

The event is free and will feature a variety of activities including an adult Zumba class set to holiday music.

For the kids, their will be an elf scavenger hunt, ornament decorating, and more.

A Gingerbread House station will be open but will require pre-registration.

Raffles will be held to benefit the Winchester Parks Foundation.

Some of the prizes include gift cards to Old Town Winchester Businesses, Shenandoah University and Winchester Royals gear, and more.
