A City of Winchester news release announced the departure of Shawn Hershberger.

Winchester’s Development Services Director Shawn Hershberger has submitted his resignation effect May 27.

Hershberger has accepted a position in the private sector with Energix Renewables.

Hershberger began his service with the City in 2017.

As Development Services Director Hershberger oversaw the Economic Development, planning, zoning, inspections, tourism and Main Street divisions.

Hershberger has also served as the Executive director of the Winchester Economic Development Authority.

While a nationwide search for Hershberger’s replacement is conducted the City Manager’s Office Program Manager Patrick Elwell will serve as interim Development Services Director.

Deputy City Manager/Chief Financial Officer Mary Blowe will serve as Executive Director of the Winchester Economic Development Authority in the interim.
