Town of Berryville relaxes payment penalties and interest

21 April 2020 Covid19 Clarke County News

As non-essential businesses remain closed and people remain out of work, the Town of Berryville is alleviating financial strains on its residents.

On April 14, the Berryville Town Council set real estate tax late payment penalties and interest at $0 and 0% respectively. This will be in effect until September 15. Real estate taxes are still due on June 5, there will simply be no late payment penalties or interest. The Town Council also suspended late payment penalties, interest, and disconnection/reconnection fees on delinquent water and sewer accounts, effective until June 15. While the Town will not be disconnecting service for non-payment, it is important to stay current on your water and sewer account, as you will still need to pay the bill when the COVID-19 emergency is over.

If you are having issues paying your bills, contact the Town Business Office at 540-955-1099 to set up a payment plan.
