Town of Strasburg Planning to Sell Property on East King Street
22 August 2017 News
On August 16, 2017, the town of Strasburg entered into a contract for the sale of property at 218 East King Street to FPI, LLC. FPI is the business that owns the two properties east of what is known as the Brown House.
The property plus 5,128 square feet of land at the back of the adjacent properties will be sold for $60,000. This will expand the space available for the downtown event area being developed through the Community Development Block Grant project.
In addition to the sale price and property dedication, the town is requiring the new owner to replace the roof prior to May 1, as part of the contract. There will also be restrictions placed on the deed for the property at 218 East King Street. These restrictions will give the town some control over any lease terms, as well as displays on the property. The contract for the sale of the property is contingent upon a Town Council vote of approval.
Town Manager Wyatt Pearson is seeking comment from known interested parties. Town Council will hear comments during a public hearing at their work session on September 5 at 7:00pm.
