Trout Resigns From Board in Frederick
November 7, 2019
WINCHESTER – The Frederick County Board of Supervisors announced that Shawnee Magisterial District Supervisor Shannon Trout has turned in her letter of resignation.
Trout turned in the letter earlier this week. Chairman Chuck DeHaven and County Administrator Kris Tierney informed the Board of Supervisors of Trout’s decision shortly after.
“Ms. Trout has informed us that she will be leaving the area and, thus, must resign from her position on the Board of Supervisors,” Tierney said in a press release.
The Board has decided to fully discuss the matter during their next scheduled meeting on Nov. 13. It will also serve as Trout’s final meeting as a member of the Board.
The Board will have 15 days from the effective date of the resignation to file a petition for a writ of election to fill the vacancy in the office. They’ll have 45 days from the effective date of the resignation to fully fill the position, according to the Virginia state code.
