Two burned in restaurant fire

3 June 2016 News

At approximately 9:50a.m., June 2, 2016, Frederick County Fire and Rescue responded to a commercial structure fire at Backseat Bar and Grill located at 104 Full House Drive in Frederick County. When crews arrived they found two burn victims; one male one female were transported to Winchester Medical Center with severe burns to the upper torso and upper extremities.
After a Frederick County Fire Marshal investigation it appears to have been a flash fire due to the rupturing of an aerosol cooking spray can too close to a heat source. There was no structural damage or damage to the appliances.
Fire and Rescue units from Clear Brook, Round Hill, Greenwood, Frederick County Battalion 10 Duty Officer, Chief 10, the Fire Marshal’s office, Frederick Sheriff’s Office and assistance from Winchester City fire departments and Chief 6 of Winchester City all responded to the incident.
No further information is available at this time from the Fire and Rescue Department.
