Two Frederick County townhomes damaged by Sunday fire

Around  7:00 pm Sunday June 12, 2016, Frederick County Fire and Rescue responded to a residential structure fire located on Township Court in Frederick County.
Crews arrived to find heavy fire showing in the rear of two townhouses located at 112 and 114 Township Ct. Fire department personnel remained on the scene for four hours to extinguish the fire, and conduct salvage and overhaul.
One resident was helped escape his residence by a neighbor before first responders arrived.
No firefighter or civilian injuries were reported, however, several pets were injured as a result of the fire. Red Cross services were used to assist with the displaced families.
The fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
Fire and Rescue units from Stephens City, Middletown, Round Hill, Millwood Station, Frederick County Fire and Rescue Battalion 10 Duty Officer, the Fire Marshal’s Office and assistance from Winchester City, Clarke County and Shenandoah County fire departments all responded to the incident.
