Two Rabid Animals Attack Dogs in Warren Co.

5 June 2019 Front Royal/Warren County News

Officials are issuing a rabies warning in Front Royal and Warren County after dogs there were attacked by two separate rabid animals.

The Lord Fairfax Health District announced Tuesday (6/4/2019) that the two attacks occurred on Monday, May 27, 2019. One involved a rabid fox off of Boyd’s Mill Lane near Browntown in Warren County. The other attack came from a rabid raccoon in the Gloucester Road/Richmond Road region in Front Royal. LFHD Director Dr. Colin Green is advising that, while both the fox and raccoon have died, any people or pets that may have come in contact with them between May 17 and May 30 should receive a medical evaluation immediately.
