Two Robbery Arrests In Frederick County

28 November 2017 News

On November 25, 2017 at approximately 8:22 p.m. deputies from the Frederick County Sheriff‘s Office responded to 1900 block of Back Mountain Road for a reported robbery.  The victim was delivering a pizza to the mailboxes on Tomahawk Trail.  While sitting at the mailboxes waiting for the customer, the victim was approached by a subject in a Toyota 4Runner who had a bandana over his face.  The suspect pointed a pistol at the victim and stated “give me the pizza and all of your money.”  The victim gave the suspect the pizza and an undetermined amount of money.

Investigation revealed that Joshua Corbin, 28, of the 100 block of Deer Trail was the suspect.  Mr. Corbin had ordered the pizza and then robbed the victim with a black BB gun.  Mr. Corbin was arrested for armed robbery and transported to the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center.  No one was injured during the robbery.

Also later that day at approximately 8:31 p.m. deputies responded to the 7-11 on Martinsburg Pike for a reported robbery.  The suspect Gregory Hoover, 46, of the 2400 block of Martinsburg Pike was still at the store.  Mr. Hoover had stated to the clerk “I’m sorry but I have to do this,” and pointed to his waist band.  Mr. Hoover had a hose nozzle wrapped in a rag stuck in his waistband.  The wrapped nozzle resembled a pistol.  The clerk and another employee ran into the back room of the store and contacted the Sheriff’s Office.  Mr. Hoover was arrested for armed robbery and public intoxication and transported to the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center.  No one was injured during the robbery.
