UWNSV celebrate 2020

In a virtual ceremony the United Way of the Northern Shenandoah Valley celebrated the conclusion of the 2020 campaign yesterday Thur. Feb. 18.
The event featured the renaming of the person of the year award in honor of Todd Thompson former Winchester Royals owner and business man who passed away in January 2021.
Thompson a Volunteer of the year award recipient was renowned for his own service to communities across the Shenandoah Valley and long time United Way volunteer.
The first ever Todd Thompson award went to Mark Merrill for his distinguished volunteer service to the community.
The virtual celebration also marked the 75 year of successful campaigns.
Celebrating a year that the United Way was expecting a deficit but the non-profit stayed on par with previous years in funding thanks to an incredibly generous community according to Hilary Legge, Manager of Resource Development for the United Way of the Northern Shenandoah Valley.
