VA Blood Services: Winchester Blood Drives

In an effort to enhance their donor experience within the community, effective June 8, 2018, Virginia Blood Services  will be closing their Cork Street location in Winchester. According to a recent release, they are working with hospital and civic partners to establish a better venue for a donation site. In the meantime, they will continue collections in the community and expand donation preferences by adding a platelet donation option for blood donors.

Visit any of our upcoming community blood drives in the Winchester area!


The first Sunday of every month at Winchester Medical Center in the Conference Center from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM!  Dates are as follows:

July 1st, August 5th, September 2nd, September 30th, November 4th and December 2nd.

June 8th: WVU Jefferson Medical Center, Conference Room, 11a – 3p (Ranson, WV)

June 10th: Shepherdstown Fire Department, bloodmobile, 12p – 3p (Shepherdstown, WV)

June 14th: New Life Christian Church, in the Sanctuary, 2p-6p (Winchester)

June 16th: Trinity Lutheran Church, bloodmobile, 9a-1p (Stephens City)

June 23rd: Samuels Public Library, bloodmobile, 11a-3p (Front Royal)

June 25th: Page Memorial Hospital, bloodmobile, 11a-3p (Luray)

June 29th: WVU Berkley Medical Center, classroom, 11a-3p (Martinsburg, WV)

Starting July 4th, VA BloodMobile will also be at Alamo Cinema and DraftHouse the first and third Wednesdays of each month from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

The Virginia Blood Services Donor Mobile App makes donating blood, plasma or platelets easier than ever. With just the tap of a finger, you can find ongoing blood drives in your area. The app will send appointment reminders, allow you to link to you VBS Rewards points, track health data in your Wellness Profile, and share donation activities with friends on social media.

The app tracks the number of donations and provides dates of eligibility for your next donation. Another feature is the “Invite-a-Friend” button, which allows you to recruit friends to #BeTheDifference, encouraging them to donate blood. Blood pressure, pulse and hemoglobin results from your previous donations are also instantly available.
