VA. Department of Elections preliminary results from Nov. 7

According to unofficial results from the Virginia Department of Elections Timmy F. French has taken over 66 percent of the votes in the District one Senate race.

Mark D. Obenshain takes the Senate seat in the 2nd District Page County.

Delores R. Oates has been elected to the House of Delegates seat in the 31st District with William D. Wiley in the 32nd District and C. Todd Gilbert taking the majority of votes in the 33rd District.

In other contested races Crystal M. Cline takes over 75 percent of the votes for Sheriff of Warren County Chad W. Cubbage retains his role as Sheriff in Page County With Timothy C. Carter retaining his role as Sheriff of Shenandoah County.

Polls report a steady flow of voters throughout the day in the November 7th election with absentee ballots still to be counted.

Absentee ballots are counted as long as they are post marked by November 7.
