VA. enacts permanent COVID-19 standards

Virginia enacts first in the nation permanent COVID-19 workplace safety and health standards during this pandemic.

The current standards of protection like wearing mask and sanitation stations and disinfecting  will remain in effect until it is determined to no longer be necessary.

The Virginia Department of Labor and Industry will enforce the permanent standards.

If a complaint is registered the department works with the employer to be compliant with no further investigation.

If complaints persist a formal investigation will be launched.

Workers who feel unsafe in the workplace can file a formal complaint with the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
