VA. hits a 15 year high in fatal accidents
An email from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) shows Virginia hit an almost 15 year increase in fatal vehicle accidents in 2021.
The DMV report shows 2 fatalities in Clarke County, Frederick County reported 9 fatalities in traffic accidents in 2021.
Eight deaths in Loudoun County were reported with 3 recorded in Page County.
Seven fatal accidents were recorded in Shenandoah County and 4 in Warren County.
The City of Winchester recorded 0 deaths with Fauquier County recording the most at 13 in 2021.
The number of fatalities in Virginia mirrors a startling nationwide trend.
Senator Mark Warner and other lawmakers have sent a letter to the Sectary of the Department of Transportation Peter Buttigieg.
The lawmakers expressed concern and asked for immediate and swift action to reverse the trend.
