Norma and Craig Kidwell of Mt. Jackson were sentenced to 100 months each in federal prison for their roles in trafficking heroin from Maryland to the Shenandoah Valley.

The pair were two of five defendants charged as part of a conspiracy that trafficked heroine from Maryland to Virginia.

The drugs transported and sold resulted in two overdoses and at least one death.

The arrest and convictions were the result of the combined efforts of several law enforcement agencies.

Headed by the Washington Drug Enforcement Administration (EDA) assisted by Virginia State Police (VPS), Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), Woodstock Police (WPD) and Maryland authorities.

Officials hope it will slow the rash of drug overdoses and deaths that have plagued the valley.
