VDH monitors algae bloom in Shenandoah River

The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) continues to monitor the harmful algae bloom in the North Fork of the Shenandoah River.
At this time Winchester, Middletown, Strasburg and Woodstock have water that is safe to drink.
The VDH declares the only restrictions at this time are to avoid swimming in or around the blooms.

Those with concerns or questions in Strasburg can call (540) 465-9197.
Woodstock residents can call (540) 459-3045.
