VDOT Announces I-81 Ramp and Lane Closures
13 August 2018 News
VDOT has announced ramp and lane closures that will be taking place on the night of Wednesday, August 15th, at three interchanges along Interstate 81 in Shenandoah and Frederick counties.
Each closure is expected to last no more than 30 minutes, during the time period of 10:30 p.m. through 5 a.m. the following morning, and will allow for soil and rock testing at those sites. Closures during those times will include the on-ramp at Exit 296 from Route 55 to northbound I-81 and the northbound and southbound lanes there, the off-ramp from northbound I-81 at Exit 315 and the northbound right lane near there, and the off-ramp from northbound 81 and on ramp to southbound I-81 at Exit 323 as well as the northbound and southbound right lanes there.
Virginia State Police will help enforce these traffic restrictions, and variable message boards will advise motorists of detour routes for the ramp closures. All work will be weather permitting.
